As expected, Vivo has made an official announcement regarding its S17 series smartphones in China. The series includes the Vivo S17, S17t, and S17 Pro, which have been introduced alongside the previously revealed S17e. Altogether, there are now four devices in this lineup.
The new smartphones have curved OLED displays with 10-bit color and a resolution of 1260 x 2800 pixels. They also have a refresh rate of 120Hz. Although, these phones come with 4,600 mAh batteries that support fast charging at 80W. Additionally, the variations between the devices are found in their chipsets and camera configurations.
The Snapdragon 778G+ powers the Vivo S17, while the Dimensity 8050 is featured in the Vivo S17t, and the S17 Pro is equipped with the Dimensity 8200 chipset. Moreover, all models offer choices for 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB of storage.
The S17 and S17 Pro have a front-facing camera with 50MP. The camera has an f/2.0 aperture and autofocus. Also, there are two soft LED flash sensors accompanying the selfie cameras.
The Vivo S17 Pro includes a main sensor with 50MP called IMX766V. It has an aperture of f/1.88 and 1.0 µm native pixels. This sensor also has OIS, which helps stabilize the images. In comparison, both the S17 and S17t have a main camera with 50MP. Their aperture is f/2.0 and they also feature OIS to ensure image stability.
Furthermore, the S17 Pro has a 12-megapixel portrait sensor that offers 2x optical zoom and has an aperture of f/1.98. Both the Vivo S17 and S17 Pro are equipped with 8-megapixel ultrawide sensors and a ring LED flash.
The Vivo S17’s basic model, which has 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, costs $352. Meanwhile, you can get the variant with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage for $422. Moreover, the Vivo S17 Pro has two versions available. Also, the first one comes with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, starting at a price of $436. The second version has 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, and it is priced at $492.
