Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well. Welcome back to another blog. This article will discuss the topic in detail “100+ Social Media Accounts Closed for Sectarianism and Anti-State Activities”. As part of a joint effort to fight against digital extremism. The capital police have requested the closure of more than 100 social media accounts. These accounts were endorsing sectarian conflict, engaging in activities against the state, promoting terrorism, and expressing anti-Islam sentiment. Consequently, the accounts have been shut down.
Law enforcement officials have cooperated with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to disable a total of 106 accounts on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. The capital police’s Counterterrorism Department (CTD) initiated this action after an investigation by the Provisional of Violent Extremism Unit (PVE), as revealed by the police officers.
The PVE has been investigating individual social media accounts involved in various illegal activities, including sectarianism, anti-state actions, terrorism, and anti-Islam statements.
The police officials also stated that the unit suggested suspending 203 accounts, including 164 Twitter accounts, 38 Facebook profiles, and one YouTube channel. Out of these, 106 accounts have been blocked successfully until now.
The Counterterrorism Department sent requests to the FIA to close the accounts. Each request documented explicit information and included screenshots of illicit activities.
