According to two sources, Samsung could move up the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 from August to July. Recently, a new Galaxy Z Flip 6 rumor has emerged, which casts doubt on the possibility of the Z Flip 5 featuring a 50MP camera. Leaker IceUniverse has stated that they have “100%” confirmed the size of the interior and cover displays for the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Additionally, another leaker has claimed to have insider information on the camera specifications for the Galaxy Z Flip 5.
Expected Price and Launch
At the moment, the launch date for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 remains uncertain. Typically, Samsung releases one flagship device in the winter and another in late summer. Galaxy Z Flip 5 will arrive in late summer, around a year after the Galaxy Z Flip 4 was launched in August of the previous year. Based on the timeline for the Galaxy Z Flip 4, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 could be announced at the Samsung Unpacked event on August 9 and go on sale on August 25. However, this is purely speculative at this point.
Pricing for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is still unknown, but many are hoping that it will come in at a similar price point to its predecessor, especially given that Samsung didn’t raise the price for the Galaxy S23 series. Design and Display
Samsung is set to release the Galaxy Z Flip 5 with a new hinge design that will make the crease on the display less visible. The phone will also be built with lighter materials. Rumors suggest that the Z Flip 5 will have a larger external display of around 3.4 inches across, which would be much more usable than previous models. The phone is expected to retain its 6.7-inch AMOLED Full HD display with a 1-120Hz refresh rate, but there is speculation about a switch to QHD resolution.
Cameras
We hope to see a significant camera upgrade for the Galaxy Z Flip 5. The cameras on the Z Flip 4 were only marginally better than those on the Z Flip 3. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will not be included in the new foldable. The Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 will offer UFS 4.0 storage on devices with at least 256GB of storage. UFS 4.0 offers faster read/write and data transfer speeds than UFS 3.1.

Battery Timing
Samsung needs to improve the Galaxy Z Flip 5’s battery life. The Z Flip 4’s battery lasted for 8 hours and 33 minutes. Samsung optimized battery performance on the Galaxy S23. The phone’s battery lasted for 10 hours and 27 minutes. We hope to see a similar improvement in the Z Flip 5. We don’t expect a boost from the 25W charging, which has been Samsung’s standard. The Z Flip 5 will likely have the same 15W wireless charging speed as its predecessor.
